Equis Acres...

Helping Hands for Horses

Equis Acres is a horse rescue, rehabilitation and placement facility located in Middle Tennessee.  We are dedicated to saving those we can, training those that have the ability to serve, and placing all into loving homes.  Whether you need a trail horse, loving companion or living yard ornament, check out our horses ready for adoption and see our before and after photos.

How to Donate

Cash donations are always helpful.  Phone or email us for more information.  We accept PayPal.

We gladly accept donations in memory of loved ones.

We can always use tack, hay, feed, and medications.  Donated time from farriers and trainers is much appreciated.

Thanks to our Sponsors

We would be unable to do this on our own and want to take this opportunity to thank our donors and sponsors.

Success Stories

We love to show off those we have saved.  These great animals have recovered in body and spirit and are safe, loved and cared for.

See before and after photos.

In Memoriam

Sadly, we can't save them all.  Sometimes they come to us too late.  These are their stories and in telling them, we hope to inspire others to get the sick, abused and abandoned horses and ponies to a rescue facility while there is still time to save them. Click here to read their stories.

Our Featured Horse -

 Meet Chisholm

Our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to Chisholm's recovery.  His surgery was successful and he is well and happy in his new home.

About Us

We are a husband and wife team - avid horseman and licensed veterinary technician.  Together we have rescued dozens of horses, ponies and donkeys who have been abandoned, abused or taken to auction.  Most have gone on to loving homes, a few who have captured our hearts, will remain on our farm, and sadly, some were too weak, sick or malnourished to be saved.  Equis Acres has not applied for non-profit status, and is privately funded by ourselves, private donations and adoption fees, which are key to providing the funds for future rescues.  Our mission is simple..."Save every horse we can."

About our Horses

They come to us weak, sick or near death, but most become beautiful, healthy animals, ready to become someone's show horse, trail horse, or loving companion.  All animals featured for adoption have been lovingly restored to health, or are at the least, well out of danger.  All have been wormed, have a current Coggins, and have had their veterinary needs taken care of.  Some have health issues that will remain for a while or for a lifetime, based on the degree of neglect or age of the animal.  All potential owners will be given an honest assessment of the horse's physical, mental and emotional health to the best of our knowledge and experience with the animal.  We only place animals in homes where we believe their needs can be met, and the environment is safe for the horse and the new owners.

Please use the navigation bar to the left to see our horses ready for placement, read our success stories with before and after photos, and read the memorials to those who could not be saved.   They are sure to touch your hearts as they have touched ours.

Donations of cash, feed, tack and supplies are accepted and appreciated.  We offer PayPal for your convenience.
